Regent Hotel: Top Of Its Class
by: Sophia

Regent Hotel turns 18 years old this year and this is proudly showcased in its exterior. Stained walls, a slightly outdated design and its less-than-fashionable entrance might make you think twice about entering, but the one thing that you should know is that Regent Hotel has an inner beauty that hasn't faded with time. It is still a 5-star hotel and it will not allow age to come in the way of remaining at the top of its class.

The large lobby might seem dull and slightly outdated with its faded carpets and old fashioned sofas, but it's to be expected coming from one of Kuala Lumpur 's oldest hotels. The high ceiling and the fountain makes for a grandioso welcome but its design seems slightly dated for the 21st century. The rooms are surprisingly well-persevered though and you'd be impressed with its condition. Like a fountain of youth, it is as if the hotel hasn't aged, from the neck up that is.

The rooms are fairly spacious and are very well-kept. All the basic amenities are present such as a TV with 20 cable channels, air conditioning, in-room safe and mini bar. If you want to wake up to a view of the Kuala Lumpur skyline, do request for one of the higher levels. Lower level rooms will either get a view of the free form pool or the happening action on Bintang Walk. Guests on the Executive Club Floor will be able to make use of the Executive Club Lounge which offers many facilities for the business savvy such as internet services and meeting rooms. The atmosphere in here is one of class and sophistication and you can imagine many big meetings and multi million dollar deals being discussed here. Other facilities include a swimming pool, many dining outlets, a spa, a gym and many more.

Regent Hotel is a name synonymous with Bintang Walk, thus putting it at an advantage over many other hotels. There are many entertainment, dining and shopping outlets around the area and feet's will ache, sweats will break, tummies will be filled and pockets will be emptied. Areas of interest within the vicinity include Star Hill Gallery, K.L Plaza , Lot 10, Sungei Wang Plaza and Berjaya Times Square.

SD's take on Regent Hotel Kuala Lumpur
Despite its age and its slightly old- fashioned façade, Regent Hotel still proves that it is of 5-star quality through and through. The room rates at Regent Hotel are very reasonable. Packages as low as RM199++ per night are available for the standard deluxe rooms and trust us when we say it is definitely worth it. A facelift might seem like a tall order seeing how Regent Hotel is one of the most sought-after hotels due to its strategic location in the heart of K.L but they are willing to accept the challenge. Over the next few months, many changes will be made to bring you a fresh look and a more complete holiday experience.
