Palace Of The Golden Horses: An Asian Extraordinaire
by: Sophia

The Palace of the Golden Horses is a magnificent marvel that sits proudly at the shores of the brilliant 150-acre man made lake in Mines Resort City . The exterior of the hotel resembles a palace and both the exterior and interior has been decorated with horses of all shapes and sizes, thus living up to its name, Palace Of The Golden Horses . According to hotel staff, the golden horses that once stood at the front and back of the hotel were once gold and have now faded to black.

This award winning hotel has been graced by the presence of Queen Elizabeth, Kofi Annan, Nelson Mandela, Yasser Arafat and even Jackie Chan, making it a true palace. The Palace Of The Golden Horses prides itself in its spectacular architecture. It maintains a Moorish structural design with many domes, high ceilings and majestic columns that extend from floor to ceiling. Upon entering, one can't help but notice the magnificent painting of horses on the ceiling in the centre of the lobby. A similar painting can be found at the Grand Salon and right below it is a very impressive and massive rotating statue of horses. The interior of the hotel is just breath-taking and it exudes royalty, enormity and beauty.

Don't be surprised to find horses on pictures, ornaments, furniture, statues and even on the restroom sign. Even the toilets are not spared, with horse shoe prints being laid out all around the floors. Nonetheless, it gives the hotel an identity and personality, even if it is a slightly obsessive and disturbing one.

Many different choices of accommodation are available. The deluxe room is ideal for guests who are looking for the run-of-the-mill amenities. If you don't want to be forced to face the highway or the ongoing construction, make sure to request for a room with a slightly more pleasant view. Every room is equipped with broadband internet services. The deluxe rooms are considerably spacious but that wouldn't come as a surprise considering the sheer size of the compound. One can't help but feel in the presence of royalty when staying at this palace-like hotel. If the hotel itself isn't enough to make you feel like royalty, try their Ministers Suite or Head Of State Suite. These rooms have been designed for exactly just that. Ministers and Head's Of States from all over the world have stayed within these walls.

The only drawback to this amazing hotel is its location. It is located 20 minutes from Kuala Lumpur city centre so guests who prefer to be where the action is might be disappointed. To make up for its shortcomings, there are many other activities to partake in around the area. There's a shopping mall, a theme park, a man made lake and a golf course all within Mines Resort City .

SD's take on Palace Of The Golden Horses
Despite being a decade old, the Palace Of The Golden Horses still possesses a design that doesn't fade with time. Its Moorish exterior and its blend of Persian and Islamic décor makes it fashionable even through to the 21st century. Its appeal comes from its architecture, décor, facilities, excellent service and its theme which gives the Palace Of The Golden Horses an unsurpassed beauty and elegance.
