Mobile Phone Projector
By: Gill Critchley Digg!

The multimedia features that mobile phones have now are fantastic and phone snow have virtually anything you could possibly need to keep you entertained on the move, the only problem is that the screen is far too tiny to watch for any length of time.

The answer to this problem may be just around the corner as the company, Texas Instruments may have a solution.

The company has developed a very tiny projector that is small enough to fit inside the majority of mobile phones that are available on the market.

This tiny projector is made up from a DLP chip, three lasers and its own power supply, all this and it is still just over an inch long. The projector will have the ability to beam out DVD quality footage on to a wall or alternatively a screen.

The company calls the technology for this tiny projector, pico-projection. This is a development of the Texas Instruments pocket projector technology that is what led to the creation of the Samsung SP-P300, a book sized projector for businesses.

As the product is only just out of the stages of development, there is no idea of a price yet, but with the new technology that will be included in mobile phones, it is probably safe to assume that they won't be the most affordable pay as you go mobile phones in the shops.

The company are not limiting themselves to only the mobile phones industry though, as they also believe that they will be able to incorporate the projector to a number of other devices such as, portable media players, ipods and also digital cameras.
