There’s something fishy going on and SD has discovered that it’s Manhattan Fish Market. With various locations all around the city, the franchise has taken the seafood market by storm. There’s a variety of seafood dishes on the menu prepared in Western as well as Mediterranean style and everything just sounds delicious.

    o      The Vibe

Don’t be fooled by their name. This seafood joint doesn’t look anything like a wet fish market. In reality, the Manhattan Fish Market franchise doesn’t stray far from the typical western joint. Its interior is consistent with its logo which consists of the colour brown and yellow. Its cosy, comfortable and casual which makes it the perfect setting for any occasion.

    o      The Food

Every dish listed on the menu sounds extremely tempting. We suggest skipping directly to the main course because any person who can wipe the dish clean should be given a medal. The portions are enormous which is surprising considering the reasonable prices.

Even so, if you’re interested in a starter, we suggest the Crispy Shrimps and the Garlic Butter Mussels. The Crispy Shrimps are almost miniature like. These bite size shrimps are crispy and tasty. Another option would be the delicious poached mussels in Manhattan’s signature garlic butter sauce. Both are perfect to just tease your taste buds before you move on to the main dish. 

Amongst some of the notable dishes are the signature Manhattan Fish & Chips and the Manhattan Flamed Prawns. The Fish & Chips are possibly one of the best in town. It is a huge fish fillet fried in a delicious batter. It goes very well with their signature garlic butter sauce so be sure to ask for more. The prawns are considerably large as well. 8 butterflied (sliced down the middle and opened up like a butterfly) prawns are seasoned and grilled to perfection. The prawns are flammable and we suggest to you choose to have the flame on because its best to have the sauce nice and hot while the cheese is still melting.

If you want a collection of all the tasty delights, we suggest ordering the Manhattan Seafood Platter for Two. You should take the “TWO” literally for this is a dish that packs everything onto a large platter. There’s fish, oysters, prawns and calamari served with either French fries or garlic rice.

    o      The Service

Service at Manhattan Fish Market is commendable. The staff is friendly and attentive although they might be a bit scarce. But the ones that are around are always happy to serve.
